The float trip this past weekend was amazing as all the sporch people and transitions bonded this past weekend and flame was here for the float.  Camp was great, it was nice to not have to worry about making my own food, too busy for that.  I slept in my car just for the heck of it.  The only thing bad about it was that it was hard to breathe in the car because there is no air.  Float was great, just relaxing on the water, eating a lot, and getting drunk(jk).  One more week of summer school and I sort of get a vacation.  I will still be working though.

I can't think of too much to update right now.  I'm going through my same routine of working everyday and going to class everyday and doing homework everyday.  I went home last weekend and had fun at Solomon's Porch learning more from Screwtape Letters.  We ate dinner togehter which is also great.  I'm looking forward to the float trip weekend and a blast at camping.  I should advise anyone camping to put on bug spray because I decided to see what happens by using no bug spray last time and I got 16 mosquito bites.  Yes I counted.  Hopefully rain does not ruin the trip and the good news is, it's not suppose to rain as of right now.  Obviously that could change because Missouri weather is very unpredictable.

Last week, the experts all voted on who would win the two divisions in the Big 12.  The prediction was Missouri vs Texas for the Big 12 Championship Game.  I am saying this because that would be a nice brotherly rivalry game for me and Gordon.

Wow, it's been such a long time since I updated this site.  I've been relying less and less on xanga and more on facebook.  I've had the same xanga background for the last three years (well I just changed it).  Anyway, I'm updating today because I feel like it.  Since my last update, many things have happened.  Some would be the church retreat, Navajo, moving out of the dorms for good and into the Christian Campus House and St.Louis is slowly and slowly not becoming my home and Columbia is.  And because I love sports, the Anaheim Ducks are the new Stanley Cup Champions and the San Antonio Spurs win the NBA championship again and I have to say that the NBA Finals could probably have put me to sleep.

Navajo was good simply because lots of kids accepted Christ which is more important than anything else anyway.  This summer's been real busy as I'm taking two classes and I have two jobs.  I'm working for the Christian Campus House (CCH) because they bought a new house last summer and have been renovating it because it was a mess. I saw the F word on the sidewalk just to give an example. The house they bought was an old frat house and of course there were many drinking parties over there.  I think this is great because now, we will have around 90 to 100 people living at the house which is more than double the last several years.  Anyway, my other job is at the bookstore and right now I'm just stacking up textbooks but I need to become a "Customer Service" expert.  Because of this, I will still be in Columbia for the most part after summer school ends because I have to work.

Anyway, everyone knows my mom is moving to New Jersey and we have a house there now which is great.  The question probably is, when is my mom moving?  We still don't know officially but it is looking like the middle of September right now assuming we don't sell the house and it does not look good right now because houses are not high in demand right now.  My brother is moving to Austin in the end of August probably.  I'll be the only one in the state from my family.  I won't get to see my new house till Thanksgiving.

Well, I've been in school for about a month now.  All of last semester, my plan for housing in junior year would be to get an apartment or house.  Well, my mom decided that I should move into the Christian Campus House next fall.  At first, I was really uncomfortable with the decision.  I'm thinking, I want my own place because my parents are moving to New Jersey this coming fall.  After a month, I was thinking, this was probably where God wanted me to go.  Yes, I'll be living in a house with 60 other people but with it all being Christian, it shouldn't be bad at all.  First, it will force me to do more ministry work which I say I can't do right now because I don't have time.  Second, Christian friends become my closest.  Third, it will be easier to practice playing worship songs and make me grow as a good worship leader with a guitar.  I've been practicing guitar the last four months and feel that I'm not far off leading worship with a guitar.  I can probably play sometime for SLCCC even this summer.  I will have a car next fall but I won't have to drive to go to class which means I can get more sleep.  One more thing is that is a butt load cheaper than the dorms.  The rest is personal so I'll leave it at this.  Also, this will probably motivate me more to follow my Urbana commitments.

Urbana 2006
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!  Before Urbana, I expected this to be like a retreat sort of but a little more on missions because it is a "mission conference."  I remember the first day I did not really do much because I did not know the songs.  After that, I learned so many new songs that have such powerful words.  There was definitely a spirit in the Edward Jones Dome that weekend.  God was speaking through all the speakers and the message was critical and there MUST be a sense of urgency.  Our mission is to be aggresive in spreading God's word and we CAN'T STOP  It brought me into thinking about Columbine how this girl was asked if she believed in Jesus Christ. She answered emphatically, "YES I DO," and of course the killers killed her.  There wasn't a moment of hesitation.  I was thinking that if I was asked the same question, I at this moment would probalby lie because I don't feel like getting shot.  We as Christians should welcome death because this is not our home.  Our home is heaven.  In the song Rescue, it says, "This world has NOTHING for me"  It has absolutely nothing so why not follow Jesus.  The pain of Jesus getting nailed to the cross is much worse than anything we can imagine including getting shot.  In the Passion, a lot of people could hardly watch the part where Jesus was getting nailed and this wasn't actually happening at the moment.  This was a movie.  That means that it was that much worse in real life seeing this happen.  One more thing I want to say is that the United States is ranked #3 in pagan worship.  I think it's safe to say that the United States is an "Anti-Christian Country."

PS:  I'm going back to Mizzou on Monday morning.
